Duke commits three obvious fouls in the final 10 seconds, none are called, and the Dukies escape with a cheap win over Maryland. Unfreakingbelievable.

Tugg Speedman

Why does screw ups like this never ever ever EVER go against Duke?

ACC: Possession arrow didn't change

The ACC on Sunday acknowledged that officials failed to change the possession arrow in the second half of Saturday's Maryland-Duke game.

The conference said "a miscommunication occurred between the officials and the table crew" that led to Duke retaining the possession arrow after earning possession from a jump ball with 16:58 left in the game.

The next tie-up came with 6:39 to go and Maryland leading 56-54. Instead of giving the ball to the Terrapins, the arrow allowed Duke to keep possession. The Blue Devils' Amile Jefferson scored on a layup from the ensuing inbound pass to tie the score.

Duke went on to win 69-67 after Maryland forward Charles Mitchell's shot in the final seconds fell off the rim.

"The matter has been and will be handled internally by the league office," the ACC said in a statement.

League spokeswoman Amy Akola told the Baltimore Sun that the conference would not be changing the outcome of the game because of the botched call.

GGGG

They lost the game at Syracuse in part because the refs completely swallowed a whistle on an obvious foul on a dunk attempt.  It happens to them too.
