Greska: A new perspective to National Marquette Day

For 11 excruciating hours last week, Marquette basketball was the furthest thing from my mind. Coming from a guy who's spent just under 67 total days on the Marquette blog MUScoop.com since November of 2009, that's saying something. Sitting beside my wife as she labored through life's most difficult challenge, all I wanted to do [...]<img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=painttouches.com&blog=28348875&post=11028&subd=painttouches&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" />

Andrei, welcome to the club.

And, nice job.  I'm sure she couldn't have done it without you. ;)

When our first was born, Mrs Chili went too fast for pain killers.  After an hour of holerin' and a half assed episiotomy, our daughter was born.  About two minutes after that, while she was holding our daughter, she looked at me and said...."that wasn't too bad".  Go figure.

I hate to tell you this but life's most difficult challenge is when that beautiful baby girl is a beautiful 16 year old...that's when the fun starts.

Congrats on a job well done to you and your bride and thanks for the great work you do covering Marquette hoops!

Congrats, Andrei.   You will know you have arrived as a dad and a MU junkie when that precious little girl has finally gone back to sleep in the crook of your arm at 3 am while you sit in front of your computer reading scoop.    After 10 minutes of quiet, you will decide to dare put her back in her crib.    And then you will have the debate.....back to sleep or back to scoop.       Spend every minute you can with her, young man.   You will never regret it.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Congrats Andrei,

Let the journey begin.  Nothing changes your life more.  And little MU cheerleader outfits are available in the Spirit Shop.

Next thing you know you'll be planning a Marquette graduation like this old man.  Enjoy every step along the way.

Congrats!  Simply the best.  I endorse all of these comments (except for Skatastrophy's buzz kill) from our fellow Warrior fathers. And get the cheerleader outfit, and with it a pint-sized bumble bee jersey if you can find it.  Welcome to the club.

+1000.

Daddy's little girl until about 13-14 yrs old.  Between that and 17-19, no one dumber than Dad.  They start coming back around 19-20.

Some of the best days were going to MU games with my daughter and her friends (and their dad's)  (ages 7-12), and then pizza (sometimes at Angelo's).  Even during my stupid period, She would still go to basketball games with me.

It's all good.  Enjoy.

Not familiar with that.

Dine and Dash. It was pretty common for McCormick guys to do that to Angelo's back in the day.

Now your speakin my language.

We used to sit in McCormick windows facing Angelo's and watch that.  I wouldn't mess with those waitresses.  They were linebackers.

There is nothing more touching than watching a father teach his off spring life's lessons. Grizzlies take cubs down to the river when the salmon are spawning and Marquette fathers take their young to Angelo's. The thought of you sharing the finer points of the Angelo's Dine and Dash with your daughter has brought out the onions. Did you instruct her on the proper application of the Marty Costello Stiff Arm? Pure Americana.
