So that means we're as good as Arizona, right?

You need to work on your "snarkiness." It's a little off.

Those things tend to offset elsewhere.  For example, Ohio State lost at home to some team called Penn State...I read somewhere (Scoop, maybe) that losing to Penn State at home is the worst loss in the history of college basketball.

I thought it was losing to Eastern (Central? Western? who cares?) Michigan at home in the NIT.

Not sure it was the "worst" loss in the storied annals of Marquette basketball but losing to Western Michigan in the NIT was certainly the most shameful.

So, would this be one of those examples of "who" says something being more important that "what" is said that I hear so much about from certain individuals on this board?

I suppose maybe it is in this case...let the record show exactly who the hypocrite is that took this thread there.

Some teams we lost to have some really good wins.  Some teams we lost to have some really bad losses (alledgedly some of the worst possible losses ever).

They tend to offset each other, like I said.   You'll have to show me the hypocrisy in this one...I'm categorizing that OSU loss exactly the same as others here did....they must be right....thus no hypocrisy at all.

Good losses (and especially who those good losses beat) don't meat crap until Marquette gets a good win or two or three of their own...

I guess the "2013 - 2024 Most Good Losses Season Champs" Banner is still on order?

It was my senior year.  Had a group project with a bunch of dorks that required a lot of night work and I was always balking bc of MU games.  Finally a dork with some knowledge of the importance of each game stood up and said I could afford to miss the Maine game.

That I didn't have a heart attack upon hearing the score is a minor miracle considering the copious amounts of Old Milwaukee, Busch Light Draft, Ice House, Louie D's and Real Chili rolling through my system.

Is there really such a thing as a "Good Loss?"

I remember that loss well...I had to come to work the next day in the department.  Deane was cooking up how to handle it....here's what he did.
