Highest pre-season ranking ever?

The first coaches poll came out and Marquette is ranked 12th. I may be mistaken and correct me if I am but in the '03 season the preseason ranking was 19. UNC, Memphis, UCLA a close 1,2,3. I cant wait for this season to get started.

ps- I dont wanna overlook any games but with Duke at #11 we may have ourselves a good one early on

I know you guys are excited, but the answer to the subject line question:  "Highest pre-season ranking ever?" is no.  We've been as high as numero dos, for a pre-season ranking, in the mid 70's:

Good!  It will look better when we beat them in Maui just like when they were #7 in the CBE last year.
