Thanks for this article. It reminds me there are fans out there just like us. Hoping on their team. Looking for a few breaks...maybe have a shot at the dance. "We're 12-9. Lost some tough games against top teams. If we could just go 8-2 with a BET win, we would be in...its possible, its possible. It all starts with beating Marquette this afternoon...but if we lose, we're done"

Familiar...one thing is sure, whoever loses today, loses that hope for this season. Neither the red or the eagles can go 8-1 over the last 9.

So lets make those st. Johns fans a bit sadder today. Let their boards second guess and woulda, shoulda, coulda the rest of the weekend. Them, not us.
Go Marquette!

MU desperation needs to beat SJ's desperation, iow we need to play 40 not 20 minutes.  SJ will be up for this one in the Garden, but looking to hear some Warrior noise in the house from our east coasters!!

Dodgy Reporting.

QuoteA 69-67 Marquette overtime victory on March 9 of last season marked only the second home loss to the Golden Eagles, as the Red Storm holds a 3-2 record against the Golden Eagles at "The World's Most Famous Arena."

Marquette has actually beaten St. John's at Madison Square Garden six times just in the last 10 seasons.

2007 Big East Tournament
2008 Big East Regular Season
2009 Big East Tournament
2010 Big East Tournament
2013 Big East Regular Season

Even if they're using Big East regular season numbers to account for St. John's two losses, where are the wins coming from? St. John's hasn't beaten Marquette at MSG since 1966 (Largely in part due to the teams not meeting between the 1970 NIT Final and the 2003-04 season).
“These guys in this locker room are all warriors -- every one of them. We ought to change our name back from the Golden Eagles because Warriors are what we really are." ~Wesley Matthews

I'd put this game as a MUST WIN at this point.  Should be a great game.  Highly contested.  St. John's playing better of late....could make the same case for MU.  Quick turnaround for Marquette and St. John's has had the benefit of last playing on Tuesday at Creighton.

Pomroy has St John's winning by 3 with a 64% confidence rating.

If MU can win...think it could be a true springboard game for the team to go on a run.  If we lose...I feel the only way we make NCAA is to win Big East tourney.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."
