I say the opposite.  Like he did with Jake last game, play JW with 2 fouls in the first half.  Don't even take him out.  Make him responsible to use his fouls intelligently.  You get to use 3 fouls per game... the other 2 are gonna get called on you  for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.  If Jim Burr is officiating, you get to use 2, the other 3 come from him.  Either way, he needs to learn to manage this himself.

If "the longer he is in, the more consistent he will become" is accurate, then why wouldn't you start him? Little bit of lost logic there, methinks.

You sit him until the first timeout so he doesn't pick up his daily dumb foul in the first four minutes. Then you play him for the entire rest of the game. That's what I'm envisioning

OK, I see what you are saying--assuming he only has 1 dumb foul.
