Went over to the badger board to check some things out and I found a thread about our recent commitments.

Some interesting comments to say the least!

QuoteThose kids are in for a rude awakening when they experience a winter in Milwaukee.  And the weather aside, there is a huge cultural chasm between the deep south and a northern Jesuit college overwhelmingly populated by suburban Catholic kids.

Its funny that they worry so much about our recruiting, when they currently have 2 Divsion 1 guards particpating in practice.

Whatever, who cares what the Rodents think.

I like the fact that we are getting players from all over the country, I think the slowed down basketball that comes from this part of the country (minus Chicago area) doesn't work in the NCAAs... as Wisconsin's early exit in the tourney last year showed (yes I know, they made it farther then us, but last year was THEIR year)  College Football and College Basketball has been all about speed, look at the champs the past years, and I think recruits from southern states bring that.  You mix the smarter basketball players from the midwest with the more raw talent speed players from the south, and I think you have something worth noting.  Not just the recruits from Texas, but Nick Williams from Bama as well.

pure genius stuff by Bill Simmons, remember to read day 2

I guess then their football program will stop recruiting kids south of the mason dixon line?  Please.

There were a lot of us at MU that had never experienced a winter like Milwaukee and we survived just fine.

Hello.....global warming? I sold all my winter gear. It shouldn't get colder than 40 degrees right? ???

of course, Bo has a commitment from a San Antonio center for the class of 2008

global warming is really working to Crean's advantage - less tanning fees and easier to sneak SEC Players into MU.

You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.
