Guess we didn't need him today, eh?

JustinLewisFanClubPres

Considering we didn't box out today and he hasn't done it all this season, I would say no.

Da 'Lanche

Did you see the size of the knee brace he had on?    possible the dude is not fully recovered...

WarriorFan

we did need his 5 fouls today.

We did not need his 5 turnovers today, so he sat.

Wonder if both he and Mayo "violated team rules?"

It's the knee,  Buzz discussed it Wed. On his radio show.

GGGG

Wonder if they might look at a medical redshirt.

good it's not a discipline thing, because he's been pretty bad so far this year and I was hoping there was a legit reason.  Rest him and get him better.

Hasn't MU already played too many games for that?

I think today was a big sign that this is happening. If he would have played in their 9th game, it puts him very close to the 30% threshold for the waiver. MU might have wanted to err on the side of caution.

He would also have to had suffered a new injury that is consided incapacitating and season-ending. And the medical staff has to make that call. If the docs have cleared him to play and sitting out is a coaching choice, then no redshirt.

Otule's Glass Eye

If he redshirts would we have no juniors on the roster next year?

TAMU, Knower of Ball

From what I have heard, this has nothing to do with his injury but everything to do with his defense

You have heard wrong.  He didn't practice for a minute this week.  The knee is getting worse and not progressing like they hoped.  May have seen the last of STJ for this year.

Generally that is true, but all MU would need to show is that his knee was deteriorating.
