Jake Thomas’ role vs. Badgers and beyond

The vitriol coming at Marquette's starting shooting guard on Twitter was fervent and ferocious with "fans" wishing Jake Thomas would never shoot, ride more pine or even go back in time and fulfill his transfer request this past spring. Heck, we even got in on the action as Thomas struggled mightily in the first half [...]<img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=painttouches.com&blog=28348875&post=9862&subd=painttouches&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" />

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I'm going to think of this before I ever say anything bad about Jake again, "If you take him out of the equation, Marquette has shot 17.8 percent from the perimeter."  WOW

It may be sheer lunacy, but I have a strange feeling that Thomas lights it up in this one...goes for over 15.  I would love to see Mayo and Thomas on the floor a lot together.  Think the two of them can have a big contribution along with Gardner to lead us to a very unexpected win.

The three of them and (Wilson) don't step up and it will be a long long game.

Another excellent article.  Nothing beats vitriol better than a few facts.
"The meaning of life isn't gnashing our bicuspids over what comes after death but tasting the tiny moments that come before it."

Is the reason most of Thomas's threes have come from the left side is the fact that Wilson like's to play on the right side? I am trying to picture them in my mind and it seems like Wilson favors the right side. In the pro am when Thomas plays point he brings it up on the right side and often shoots form the right side. Trying to picture past teams I see Cadougan also bringing the ball up on the right side with the shooting guard being on the left side. Is this my imagination, Buzz's style or the fact that most point guards being right handed tend to favor their strong side?

Most likely PGs favoring their strong side.  When I played (a long time ago), our coach had no preference to which side we brought the ball up...mainly take what the defender gave you.  Since often there was no pressure extended to half court we were not steered a direction and then would go to our strong side.  Likely a similar scenario here.
