Junior Cadougan To Join Bucks In Camp
September 16 at 12:39pm CST By Chuck Myron

Undrafted Marquette point guard Junior Cadougan will be in training camp with the Bucks, agent Charles Briscoe tells Jorge Sierra of HoopsHype (Twitter link). He auditioned for the Bucks as well as the Wizards in advance of the draft, and was a part of Milwaukee's summer league team.

The 6'1" Cadougan didn't play much for the summer Bucks, scoring just two points as he appeared in two games for a total of 12 minutes. His stats weren't too impressive in college, where he averaged 8.5 points, 3.8 assists and 2.5 turnovers per contest as a senior. The native of Canada got some seasoning as a member of the national team this summer in the FIBA Americas Championship, but he only notched 1.7 PPG in that event.

The 23-year-old becomes the 16th player on the Bucks, who already had 15 others on fully guaranteed contracts. That'll make it tough for Cadougan to win a spot on the opening-night roster. Even though the Bucks clearly want to evaluate him over the next month, they might not have too much interest in retaining his D-League rights, since they share their affiliate with five other NBA teams — something I pointed out when I examined every Eastern Conference team's pre-camp roster outlook this weekend.

As this article says the Bucks already have 15 players signed and Cadougan is the 16th man on the roster, meaning it will be very hard for Junior to make the team. In the past I would say that Junior had no chance at all, but what happened with Buycks and Trent this summer makes me think anything is possible.

Great for Junior.  Even if he only gets training camp time one never knows if the injury bug were to bite.

Not to be in any way argumentative but has Van signed on with anyone for camp?  Last I heard he was getting a Heat 'look-see' if I recall correctly.

Guessing this is a local favor as much as anything. Love June, but he has never had the athleticism for the next level. He's like a reverse-Buycks. DB had the athleticism but not the refinement, while Junior had the refinement but not the athleticism. The difference is, it's a lot easier to learn how to bring your athleticism under control than it is to learn how to add athleticism to your game. What Junior needs I don't believe can be taught.

Bucks should put him on the roster just to try and get more Marquette fans in games. The BC is a ghost town for a lot of home games

Do you really think JR as a 3rd string PG seeing, at most, 5 min a game is going to impact attendance that much?  Leuer was on the Bucks for 2 years and it didn't spike anything.  Maybe if Wade came to the Bucks, but simply having an alum on the team wouldn't do much.  This isn't minor league baseball.

I was more poking fun at the Bucks than making a serious suggestion

I could see Jimmy, Jae or Wes making an impact, doesn't even need to be Wade.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!
