Demo Day at Marquette
Demolition at 14th and Wells will make way for a 6-floor, 80-unit, private student housing development by Opus Group.

Yesterday, construction started on IVY on Fourteenth, built by the Opus Group and providing private student housing near Marquette. The first phase of this project commenced with the demolition of the building that housed Kampus Foods, Sweeney's Books and a Subway restaurant at 1400 W. Wells St.

Once demolition is complete, construction will get underway on the 80-unit, 165-bed, six-story, mixed-used student housing building designed by Korb Tredo Architects.  The building should open by next August, in time for Marquette University's 2014 fall semester. Each unit will have its own washer and dryer, and the building will have indoor parking, a workout room, study rooms, social spaces and 7,500 square feet of first floor retail, including a Subway restaurant.

Peak Campus Management, based in Atlanta, Georgia, will manage IVY on Fourteenth as well as two other Midwestern student housing buildings in development by Opus Group.

Made my daily Skoal buy there. Been off the stuff for 16 years, but the few times I've returned to Milwaukee and passed this place, my mouth would water.
