Monterale Clark arrested, charged in Texas

Milwaukee native and MU recruit Monterale Clark was one of three men arrested and charged in an alleged sexual assault in Hillsboro, Texas on Monday night.

Clark, 20, has been charged with felony sexual assault and is being held in Hill County Jail on $50,000 bail, according to officer Jimmy Hammer of the Hill County Sheriff's Department. Clark did not have an attorney as of Wednesday evening, Hammer said.

According to a report in the Waco Tribune, the alleged assault took place at a dorm-room party on the campus of Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas. The alleged victim, according to the report, was an 18-year-old woman.

The 6-foot-10, 222-pound Clark averaged 15.8 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocked shots per game as a freshman last season at Hill, and was regarded by some as the top returning big man in the junior-college ranks this season.

Because Clark has yet to sign with MU, NCAA rules prevent coach Buzz Williams or any other representative of the school from commenting on the situation. But with the early signing period running from Nov. 11-18, and his case likely to take much longer than that to reach a conclusion, it's highly unlikely Clark will ever wind up suiting up for the Golden Eagles.

Clark's arrest is yet another development in what's turned out to be a turbulent few weeks for MU.

First, freshman forward Brett Roseboro of Quakertown, Pa. left the team on Aug. 23 and transferred days later to St. Bonaventure. Senior point guard Maurice Acker, who'd quit the Golden Eagles in June to focus on his academics, rejoined the team on Aug. 29.

Then on Sept. 3, guard Aaron Bowen of Jacksonville, Fla. backed out of his oral commitment to MU. He was the first player to commit to the Golden Eagles' 2010-'11 recruiting class, in November of 2008.

Now, in addition to all the turnover, sophomore guard Darius Johnson-Odom is expected to be out for at least a month after suffering an injury to his left foot in a recent workout.

Johnson-Odom's foot has been placed in a walking boot, and he'll be on crutches as he recovers. With Johnson-Odom likely out until after the start of practice on Oct. 16, MU will be down to 10 healthy scholarship players.

The Golden Eagles have three scholarships available for 2010-'11

I believe that someone Monterale met in prision got out and posted here that Monterale was hopeful that MU would still be interested when he got out.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Yep, that's the thread I linked a couple of posts up.
