In the NBE?

Georgetown, Nova, SJU and Marquette.

Throughout college basketball history?

UCLA, Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas, Duke and Indiana.

Spot on.

In my opinion, of those four, Gtown is the flagship of the flagships.  And it's not even close.

I'd beg to differ with that. Marquette has the same number of national championships as Georgetown. Georgetown has more Final Four appearances (by 2). Marquette has more NCAA appearances (by 2). In the past 10 years, Marquette has 1 more appearance past the first weekend (4 to 3). In the past 20 years, both teams have 5 appearances past the first weekend.

When it comes to NCAA success, Marquette and Georgetown are near-mirrors of each other. You could argue either as being more successful, but no matter how you frame it, it's very very close.

We can argue who has the better basketball pedigree until were blue in the face. I am just glad that Gtown and Nova are in the league with us as our 3 schools have made a commitment to high major basketball over the last 15 years and will lead the league in the future. Lets hope the other 7 will do the same. Its the only way the league will have credibility as high major league.

Glad I'm not the only one leaving SJU out

For those curious I just posted the 90s our conference's teams did good at getting to the tournament but seemingly couldn't do anything once there.

That's great and all, but I meant with respect to national attention/notoriety.  I feel like the Georgetown Hoyas are a household name, while Marquette Golden Eagles/Warriors is not.  Maybe because theyre a bigger/better school, on the East Coast, part of the old old Big East, or whatever, but to me they are undoubtedly our marquee program.
