Another example of Buzz beating the bushes.  It must suck to be a fan of an MAC team.

Darius Paul, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward, was the MAC Freshman of the Year averaging 10.4 points and 5.7 rebounds last season.  It's probably not surprising that he decided to transfer to Illinois given that his brother, Brandon is graduating from there.  Darius also had offers from Florida, Iowa State, Marquette, Miami (Fla.), Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada and others since receiving his release from Western Michigan.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

MU was involved with him out of high school, but ultimately backed off after landing Steve Taylor.

His brother Brandon committed to Illinois very early, and there was never any doubt about where he wanted to go (he was two years behind me in high school).  I'm guessing Darius felt the same way and would have gone to Chambana right away if they had offered him.  Nobody else had a chance once Illinois offered.

Of course, it was Steve Taylor's Simeon team that beat Paul and Warren in the state title game two years back.  So we got the better end of the deal!

Brandon Paul was long gone before that Warren team went to the finals.

Wait just realized you were talking about Darius nevermind. That Warren team was so long. Their entire lineup was over 6'6"

His brother Cliff Paul seems to be happy at State Farm.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.
