We all know about Tarik Black's potential interest in MU and it was reported by Paint Touches that Chad Frazier (one of the Top JUCO G's in the country just re-opened his recruitment - we were tied to him at one point), but are there any other players on the market that Marquette has ties to?

I said it in another post (before the Vander news), I'd love it if we could balance the recruiting classes with a 2nd year big (JUCO or Transfer) who could pair with Taylor to create a formidable front court and bridge the gap between Oxtule and Diamond Stone...but don't know if there's anyone out there that fits that mold.

Anyone have any insight on players we may or may not be (or have been) associated with?

I posted in the other recruiting thread that Alex Brown from San Jose State at least fits the profile, although I have no idea if there's any interest.  6-11 Center that is currently a Jr.  Originally from Mt. Vernon, Ill. and played the first 2 years at a juco before transferring to SJSU.  I assume he'd have to sit out next year and then have 1 year of eligibility left.  Last year he averaged 4.6 ppg and 4.7 rpg in 21 mpg.  Might not be a star, but he has size and could potentially bridge the gap between Oxtule and Stone.

Two similar options might be Devonte Elliott (6-10) and Kevin Panzer (6-9) from Nevada.  Both would sit out a year and then have one year left.

It's sure being taken for granted that Diamond Stone is coming to Marquette.

Not taking it for granted at all.  But going out and signing a big guy in the 2014 class could certainly decrease our chances with him.  Our top selling points are (1) close to home, and (2) immediate playing time.  Getting a short term fix at C would keep things open for him.  Also, I doubt a big guy that could play immediately (Juco or grad transfer) would want to spend a year sitting behind Oxtule.

A guy potentially ranked number one in his class shouldn't be too worried about playing time.  He probably wouldn't want to be practicing against a 6'6" skinny guy, either.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Are the days of really really good players transferring up (Seth Curry) going to be a thing of the past? After all, if they are really good at a low/mid level, they will just turn pro after a year.

Too lazy to look up the data
