Assuming Buzz has nothing up his sleeve for filling Vander's Scholie, here's some thoughts on where we stand:

1) This is a huge opportunity for Todd Mayo. If he can overcome his uncanny ability to shoot himself in the foot, he may have a starting position waiting for him next year. There's a lot of conditioning and work to be done in the off-season, but his natural talent and ability should allow him to slide into the starting line-up next year -- if his head is with us!

2) Depth Matters. Buzz is well positioned to replace both guards from this year's team. Derrick and Duane and well-positioned to replace Junior and, although we're likely to have some bumps in the road, this still looks good for next year.

3) Jamil is more important than ever. Son, we hope you will drive to the basket more!

4) Our prognosis is still good!!!!! I thought we were a Potential Final Four Team next year. I may back off just a little without Vander, but the depth here is wonderful and the team has gelled for a run in 2013-2014. I still think Top 10 and with a bit of luck, we may still be on our way.

5) I still hold out hope Vander will change his mind. Maybe!!!
