How do you embed a youtube video here at 'Scoop?

It's mildly tricky.  Find the Youtube video you want .. then click Share > Embed .. and make sure you click the "Use old embed code" box.

Inside that code, you'll find this: param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/xQS7olh4NFg?hl=en_US&version=3"

The value is what you want.

So on Scoop, type "[ flash=xxx, yyy]"  xxx is your height and width, which are values also in the code.

then "http://www.youtube.com/v/xQS7olh4NFg?hl=en_US&version=3"  (the embed code only has // but you need the http:// phrase as well.)

then [ /flash]

So it looks like this:  (I inserted an extra space between [ and flash)

[ flash=560,315]http://www.youtube.com/v/xQS7olh4NFg?hl=en_US&version=3[/flash]

Or pictures?

That I can help you with. You need to find the web address of the picture itself. To find the address, right click on a picture from a website. Click "view image" (or somethign like that. each browser is different). The picture itself will load and that web address will be the one you want. Now, when you put your reply on scoop, click the "Insert Image" button. You'll get a code that looks like this: [ img][/img].

So you want to put up a pic of otule/gardner from this website: http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/15/2013-2014-season-preview-no-14-marquette-golden-eagles/

Right click on the image of otule/gardner and (in chrome) click "open image in new tab". It will open a new browser tab with just the picture and a new address of "http://nbccollegebasketballtalk.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/chrisotuledavantegardnerncaabasketballu5l5sz52yhjx.jpg?w=614&h=410"

So, hit the Insert Image button, copy and paste the image's web address in between the brackets so it looks like this
"[ img]http://nbccollegebasketballtalk.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/chrisotuledavantegardnerncaabasketballu5l5sz52yhjx.jpg?w=614&h=410[/img]" (note that I added a space after the first bracket so you can see the actual code)

You end up with this:
