Sorry, but you're wrong! So you know Blue will NEVER play the point under Buzz? (Wondering who you really are, to be so sure!)

The only way Blue plays point is if either Wilson proves inadequate.  A la Buycks two years ago.

That hardly means that Ferguson would have been better than Derrick.  Buzz certainly didn't seem to think so.

That shows you how little you truly know about basketball.  I mean, what a moronic a couple of sentences that is.

Think for yourself and stop kissing Buzz's butt. He can be wrong. Your eyes don't lie. D. Wil is not worthy of starter if you want to win. Stop watching basketball and play it. Buzz's Jester is not a good look.

I have been plenty critical of Buzz.  And they may not be able to win with Derrick running the point next year.  But that doesn't mean that what he did this year could have been replicated by Ferguson.

Name one thing he has gone that would set him apart from any "run of the mill" point guard. He just brought the ball up and passed. Ferguson can't do that?

1. He did that without turning the ball over much.

2. He played fantastic man-to-man defense against the opposition's PG...eg, Butler

I doubt Ferguson could have done either as effectively.  And obviously Buzz shared the same doubts.

Agree to disagree. Freshman Ferguson had no chance. Smart for coaches to close practices so we can't second guess them.

Freshman Wilson played last year.  Seriously, on what evidence do you believe that Ferguson could have played?  What makes you think you know more than Buzz does?

Interesting conspiracy theory, but it hasn't stopped you from second guessing, has it?

My opinion is based on what I've seen D. Wil do in his many minutes logged, and what I've seen from Ferguson. It's the eye test. There's only opinion here. If Buzz wins a championship, I will NEVER question him again.

If D. Wil defense is so good, why did he and JC get embarrassed by Syracuse's point in the Elite 8. You're think a defender equal in high and long wingspan wouldn't have have more affective (Ferguson). We knows JF defends. His first play on the collegiate level was a steal for a dunk.

The eye test?

Ferguson played a grand total of 11 minutes during Big East play...6 of which were during the South Florida blow out.  In fact I recall him playing a minute of significance some time during BE play, and he promptly got lost in the defensive rotation.  Can't remember which game that was but it was mentioned here.

He got a steal and staff against a 30 point blow out of UMBC.  And you think that translates to an E8 game v. Syracuse???

If you think Ferguson couldn't do, or any guard for that matter, what D. Wil did as a backup point guard, we will never agree. ANY guard or small forward can bring the ball up the court, start the offense, and defend. Wilson did not breakdown any offense, set up any player, or shoot well, but projected to start next year. Slashing wing is just a label we put on Ferguson.

Chapman, Joe.   Bradley, Karon.   Berkowitz, Niv.   Jackson, Marcus.    All would disagree with you.    All played point due to necessity.   None were what any would call a success.
