Sen Schumer says, "Anbar wasn't won because of the surge, it was won despite the surge----the fact is that our troops weren't able to protect the Sunnis from Al Quida"-----Durbin says, The Petreuas report will be the "Bush report".

Schumer's comment is a slander to the troops -----can't help but feel it was meant to undermine troop morale----a cheap shot for sure! Meanwhile Durbin is trying to undermine the credibility of a widely respected general (please recall the Senate voted unanimously in favor of his conformation just a few short months ago).

These are more examples of Dem denial----asking for something (Petraeus's report in mid September)----then turning their backs when the message delivered doesn't fit their agenda. The Dems were the ones that pushed GWB to show progress on the ground (as the surge started in June Reid says, "the war is lost")----now that progress has been made----they retreat by saying "where's the political progress"------never mind that we have just made bigtime progress toward stablizing the country BEFORE political progress is possible (we're working at political progress at the local level, which in time will gravitate to Bagdad).

Now the Dems have been forced to retreat from asking for a definite timetable for withdrawal (surrender) to now a more reasonable stance of withdrawing the troops "gradually". But why with victory within our grasp don't they just come out and say, "go for it (victory)"? They don't because they have too much political capital invested in defeat!

What a sad position for a major political party to be in-----rooting for  defeat so they can win an election!

Chuckie is getting throttled right now by the troops and the military blogs.  Parents of soldiers flooding his office with complaints.  What a piece of work that guy is.

Kerry doing the same thing today.  Whenever they get a chance, they take a swipe.

mviale

Muhammad Viale here.  Lets all convert to islam, so we can solve health care, education and social security.
You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.
