The scene outside Rupp Arena

Lexington, Ky. - Although the first game, Louisville-Colorado State, doesn't begin for at least another couple of hours, there is lots of activiity outside the arena.

Odd that CBS would have the Ville game ahead of the MU game?   Wonder how many Ville fans will stick around for the MU-Butler game?

I think that they put the better game in the prime time slot. I doubt that they were concerned about the fans at the game.

MUs game would be 7:45 to 10:00 EST.  that sounds like prime time to me......

JTBMU7

Only 1000 people there on Thursday? Hopefully we get a better turnout today... Maybe the CSU fans will jump on board since we have the Buzz connection...

I guess I don''t follow what you are saying. I thought that you were implying that the games should be switched so that more would stay for Louisville. I guess we agree.

Will Louisville fans cheer or boo Marquette?

No, surprised that they would not put Ville ( the top seed ) in prime time, which would be the later game.

A close Marquette Butler game will get higher ratings than Louisville blowing out Colorado State.

"The Golden Eagles would go to the Washington, D.C., if they beat the Bulldogs. It would be the first time in almost 40 years that MU made the Sweet 16 for three consecutive years."

How sweet would a victory be tonight for Marquette community, the bkb program, Buzz and the players...

Exactly, CBS is concerned with millions watching their TVs, not thousands staying in their seats.

Well, if the Ville-CSU game was to be in prime time and became a blowout, the majority of viewers would switch to the Gonzaga game.  Remember, we are talking about mostly casual viewers who want to watch the best teams as opposed to more informed viewers like us posters...?

No, were talking about mostly casual viewers who want close games, buzzer beaters, upsets, etc. casual viewers barely know who the best teams are.

They can read the brackets as to who is #1' etc.

In Cleveland 2 years ago OSU played in the first game and MU-'Cuse played the second game, I was surprised how many OSU fans stayed around.  More importantly it was better for scalping tickets because the market for tickets swung to a buyers market after the OSU game started ;D
