We R Final Four

Coached by Drew Diener in his 4th season. The Diener legend continues.

Well, not quite.  I'm happy for Stritch, but not D3.  The Wolves are NAIA Division II.

So does the C7 add Cardinal Stritch over Dayton?

Yep, d3 is in the sweet sixteen right now. Of note: preseason favorite for exhibition, Illinois Wesleyan made it to the round of 16.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Right--thought of that this am. Thought no way is CS D3--  yes NAIA my mistake.

Kind of.  The issue is that many NAIA schools are private so even a partial scholarship doesn't equate to in-state tuition at a D3 public.  Stritch lost to UW-Whitewater this year, and I have no idea how good Whitewater is this year, but I know they are defending D3 champions.  My guess is that Stritch would be a second tier WIAC team.

The NCAA is doing something pretty cool this year.  For the 75th anniversary of the NCAA championship, they are staging the D2 and D3 championship games as part of a double header the Sunday between the national semifinals and the Monday championship game.

Very cool. They should do this every year as part of the Final Four weekend.

I work for a D2 school, and actually it is a bit of a logistical nightmare.  The NCAA is reserving hotel rooms for the players and staff for the teams that qualify, but there are some concerns about hotel space for family and fans that want to go to the game.

Also, I have no idea about D3, but the D2 "Elite 8" is a pretty cool event.  They have 8 teams that come into one city, last year it was Louisville, and they do a great job making it special.  There are thoughts that they are going to lose this special feeling to the event and it will become second-fiddle to the D1 final.

Cardinal Stritch got slammed on "Unite" last night on ESPNU.  Granted that show's a joke but there was a highlight and the hosts were like "What is a Cardinal Stritch" and then the rest of the show they kept making jokes like "at least he didn't lose to Cardinal Stritch" and "could be worse, he could be in a Cardinal Stritch highlight".  I'm talking 2-3 jokes more than 5-10 min later.  Pretty bush league.

Unite is quite possibly the worst show ESPN has ever aired (new thread topic?). I watched it for about 5 minutes one day and literally thought it was a spoof of a sports show at first.
