Syracuse Head Coach Jim Boeheim Asked to Retire

A source close to DYST Now is reporting that Syracuse director of Athletics, Dr. Daryl Gross is expected to meet with the NCAA about possible NCAA violations from last year's team.

Syracuse head coach, Jim Boeheim as a result has also been asked to retire.

Syracuse will host DePaul at 6:00 pm Wednesday on the Orange's senior night. The Orange are currently ranked 17th in the country and are 22-7.

As far as what the violations may be, DYST Now has yet to know. Though, there's speculation that they're drug related.

We'll have update you more as more of this story comes out.

i did a search on the article and a follow up is saying the information is coming from a website run by an 18yr old.  also browsed a cuse message board that gets plenty of use and their was no mention...

They are saying it was an accidental re-tweet...which I don't believe.

But you also have to wonder with the news that Mike Hopkins has interviewed at U$C, and IMO Hopkins is a *great* assistant, if Syracuse might be pressing Boeheim for an answer.
