So since that tweet said that the Big East is taking no further action does that mean that the suspensions were by the school?

Suspension is automatic per league guidelines.

I believe the tweet implies that no players will be suspended for leaving the bench (Garrett) and no additional games shall be missed by the 2 fighters.
