Barring Georgetown and Louisville losing out, and Marquette winning out, resulting in Big East regular season Champs, this is a great scenario. The 2 and 3 seed lock in night games on Thursday and Friday, and it seems like 95% of the scenarios result in Marquette ending Big East play there, which is pretty neat.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

And just an FYI...it is basically a lock that MU will be the 3 seed. That's based on the following assumptions:

  • Louisville beats Notre Dame at home in their final conference game
  • Georgetown does not get swept by Villanova & Syracuse

If those two things happen...even if MU loses out, they still have the 3. I don't think there is any possibility they are the 4 seed.

Correct. MU has clinched the 3 seed (or better).

You are correct, any team that can reach the 4 line would be 12-6 which means we would have to drop our last two games, plus we hold the tie breaker over all 3.

Only way we are 1 is if everyone else doesn't win a game since we lose all tie breakers to Georgetown and Louisville. 3 way tie Georgetown is #1, they also win 2 way ties against Louisville 1-0, and us 1-1 since we lost to Louisville.

Louisville beats us in tie due to head to head record.

Regardless this is just seeding so if we tie for first we still get to claim Big East regular season champions since the league does split champions.

Villanova took Pitt to OT on the road last night, so a loss by them at Georgetown is far from certain, and 'cuse is 'cuse, so MU's chances of sharing the Big East title is not insignificant.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I agree. At this point I'm not sure I wouldn't be more surprised in Georgetown did not lose a game, than I would if they did.

Lets go ND and Pitt! Do not want to have to play Cuse there (even though I'm still most afraid of Louisville).

Louisville...gonna have to slay that dragon sometime, right?

Except if MU finishes with a #3 seed and Cuse falls to a #6 because ND and PITT win, then we are playing Cuse anyway (assuming they win their first game).

I agree.  We would get major street cred for a MSG Louisville win.  Otto Porter is also playing out of his mind right now... I prefer we don't play them until late as possible.

GGGG

Eh...keep #2 or #3.  That way they play Thursday evening.

Who wins the tiebreaker if GU,UL, and MU tie for first?

If all 3 tie, it's viewed as a mini-conference. G'Town is 2-1, Louisville 1-1, and MU 1-2.
