Anyone think Chris wants to rethink applying for a 6th season after that game? What a senior day that would have been for him! Hopefully he's back to continue next season!!

Markusquette

I hope we get him for another year.

mugrack

Looked like Kareem Abdual Otule today

muwarrior97

Played HUGE today, his improvement (thanks health) has been outstanding....Props!!

He's been cleared by the NCAA, Buzz has the door open so it's up to him. He can get paid to play though. I would like to see him back but would understand if he wanted to make some money.

He will come back to improve his stats for the next level.

Not sure he's an NBA player. That game moves a lot faster than he can play. But there's a lot of pro leagues in this world.

Doesn't the fact that he didn't participate in senior day after the game strongly suggest he's coming back?

GoldenZebra

So if he comes back, someone is either getting the boot or paying their way...

Jake Thomas came to MU as a walk-on and he can go back to being a walk-on as a senior.

This has been discussed ad nauseum, we over over-signed by 1 if otule comes back even with Jake off scholarship.

I think Ferguson will leave and one recruit will change his mind.

4everwarriors

That's more like it. The can of worms is now officially open for business.

"Change his mind?"  They signed NLIs.

Jameel has to earn his associates degree.  I'm not sure where he stands, but that could be an issue.

chapman

Horray for pointless speculation.  Just look at the probability: 8 other players all returning, plus 5 signees all enrolling.  Something will give, but it's stupid to try to speculate in March.

Either that or he did not want to have to speak on senior day.

lefty jump hook was a thing of beauty!    stay healthy big man!

Great game by Wilt Otule

muwarrior69

Born with one eye, fractures his foot, tears his ACL we should nickname him "LUCKY" the way he has come back.

The eye story with his HS coach is a bit off. No way the guy doesn't know about that.

Having said which, I'm glad the guy thought enough of Buzz to pick up the phone. Marquette is the better for it.

IIRC, Chris grew 8 inches in 18 months or something ridiculous like that.    He went from being a 6'2 nobody to being 6'10.    It is entirely possible that the coaches never paid attention before and attributed his clumsiness to his rapid, late growth.

You are right about the growth spurt. He went from being a mediocre guard to learning to be a 5.

Same thing happened to the Admiral when he was at the USNA. Obviously, he mastered the 5. I always respected him. He grew up in a military family and dreamed of becoming a pilot. Unfortunately for the Navy he grew and learned to turn that taller body into an NBA weapon. Not only was he an All Star but a refreshing counter point to the Alan Iversons and Latrell Sprewells.
