A word on Trevor Mbakwe

Trevor Mbakwe, the 6-foot-7 freshman forward from St. Bernard's Prep in St. Paul, Minn., has been working out with the team in advance of its trip to Vancouver this weekend. He's also expected to take part in the open practice tonight at The Al.
His status remains unchanged, though, meaning the NCAA Clearinghouse has not yet OKd Mbakwe for the season. He's allowed to take part in team activities for the first two weeks of the semester while his case is being reviewed.
MU remains hopeful Mbakwe will be cleared by Friday, which is when the Golden Eagles depart. But as anyone who followed the Lazar Hayward saga last year remembers, getting answers from the NCAA can take awhile.
Meanwhile, 6-10 recruit Frank Ben-Eze is on campus for his official visit. He will be in attendance for the open practice tonight.
