No.  I still think the recruiting of JUCO's is a bad idea for reasons stated over the years.

Well, Al McGuire would disagree with you. Al lived on JUCO's. Hell, he had deals cut with JUCO coaches who would take non-qualifiers and JV them for Al. And everyone in Div I knew Al was doing this. Frankly, I am inclined to believe Al McGuire a better authority on recruiting JUCO players.

They are all on a cruise ship with the Vander Haters, ship is rolling around with no propulsion and air conditioning somewhere in the gulf of mexico, watching coaching tapes of big bad Bo from his WSP days, swing it baby

After they are done watching the Bo tape, they have to poop in their Bucky duffels and leave them in the hall to get picked up overnight.

No.  I still think the recruiting of JUCO's is a bad idea for reasons stated over the years.  4 years vs 2 years is one of the major reasons.  I can't wait to see Steve Taylor in years 3 and 4. Same for Vander next year.  Same for DG.  The transition years are their freshman years, not their junior years.  Some guys transition really well their junior year while others take half the season.  I'd rather they do that their freshman year, build up what they expect from the coach and program so their final two years they are absolutely all on the same page .  Better for balance of recruiting classes, better for stability in the program.  It's still why most of the top programs go for high school kids and I'm glad Buzz is now doing that.

C'mon, Chicos. We both know the opposition to JUCOs had nothing to do with 2 vs 4-year players, stability, etc. For starters, that's not even true. Most of Buzz's JUCOs have been three-year guys and they've provided at least as much stability as the four-year guys, taking transfers into account.

But the reality is that the consternation over JUCOs was almost entirely based on the perception that, because of their status, these kids either lacked the character or intelligence befitting the Marquette uniform.
