Frank the Tank's take on things.  Not exactly earth shattering news in his piece but the "Big Priest" as a conference name is awesome!   :P

Classic East is the best name I've heard so far but I'd prefer to not keep it isolated geographically unless we keep the Big East name.

Meh. Classic East sounds like it came from one of the BE charter members. Where's UConn, Boston College and Syracuse?

If the Big East name is lost, Im hopeful the conference will go with something new and original.

Native Indian names are back in vogue.  St. Johns good go back to being the Redmen, MU the Warriors etc...

Don't like it....especially since it is very possible the majority or even split of the schools won't even be in the east depending on the configuration.

MU
DePaul
Butler
Xavier
St Louis
Creighton

Nova
GTown
Hall
Providence
SJU
VCU or Richmond

I prefer Metro, Urban, Cosmopolitan Conference, or something reflective of the schools.

Empire League, Skyline (representing cities), etc

How about the "NorMidWEastern Conference"?  Unless we include Gonzaga.  Then all bets are off. Say it 5 times.  It has a bit of a flow to it.

Please. First Nations or Indigenous Peoples.

I'm still hoping the football schools eventually agree to be "bought out" of the name completely.  The C-7 are going to end up much more "metro east" focused than the remaining football schools and we all know that UConn and Cinc. are going to bolt the "left over east" as soon any conference with a pulse offers them.  So its in their interest to sell anything of value since they aren't going to be around long anyway.
If we have to lose the name I'd suggest something using the Premier league that the European soccor uses.  Maybe the American Premier League.  It could then be marketed as the Premier league for the best basketball.

No sense in worrying about the name until after it's decided who gets the big east name.

Classic East sounds like a Boston rock station.
