Im not sure what a team gets out of playing at ND though.
A lesson on the supposed shortcomings of their lives.

JTBMU7

i doubt L'Ville would do it, nor would it make a ton of sense for either program to do it. They alerady have UK and will also be a spotlight in the B1G/ACC challenge every year, so the rest of their sched will probably be pretty full. ND makes the most sense, but UCONN or Cincy are options too. Both programs should be good for a while. i realize it's redundant geographically with our projected make up of OH/East Coast schools, but both would be well attended/hard fought games as they have bee for the past many years.

In my book, it's L'ville...and it's not even close.

Incredibly tight games, crazy comebacks, last second shots, etc.  Not to mention the Cards are consistently a Top 10 program (could use the RPI boost the next few years).
I hate them so much...and I love the rivalry. Nothing else comes close. Notre Dame is a distant, DISTANT second and as much as I despise Cinci and like that rivalry, too, that team is a bunch of thugs and their fans a group of classless hooligans.

I'd take Louisville over ND simply based on the idea that within a couple years, we'll already be playing ND once or twice a year.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Do you really think they will bolt from the ACC to the C7 (+5)?  I can't remember, is there an exit fee from the ACC?

Personally, I don't think they'll bolt, I think they'll never actually join... but that's 100% pure, unadulterated speculation - not to mention strictly my opinion.

I have absolutely no inside information that would ever suggest that ND is even considering taking its O-sports to the C7+5, even in the event they couldn't skirt the exit fee.

It's ND if they will accept. I bet they want it with DePaul though.

ND has played MU more than any other team in the country...

So you're saying ND to the C7 is a done deal?

Correct, and ND ranks #2 for us.  Depaul is #1.

The are a done deal for the ACC.  Also they get consideration for a football bowl in the ACC even though they are not technically part of the conference for football (they agreed to play 5 ACC teams a year).

ND has a great deal with the ACC.

What changes this deal is if the ACC starts getting poached.  The B1G and B12 have recently made public statements they are not done.  The logical poaching place is the ACC has they have the lowest football TV deal of the major conferences.

If a bunch of good ACC teams (Miami, Fla State, UNC, Clemson) jump and ND is stuck with five ACC games against teams like Wake Forest, Duke, Boston College and VT, all collectively bad teams, that kills their SoS and maybe their goal of a national championship.  Remember SoS is huge in football as only 4 teams will make the new playoff and it will come down to "who you played and who you beat."

If/when this happens, they might reconsider the ACC and think about joining the C7 while staying completely independent in football.  That is, unless the B1G caves and takes them as a non-football member.

Maybe you forgot that ND played Wake Forest, Boston College, Pitt, Miami and Navy this year...

Like I said... strictly my opinion.  No need to restart the debate here.

For me (and most alums from pre 1990?) ND hands down.

Biggest game of the year when I was in school (78-82).

Order of importance
1) ND
2) DePaul
3) Becky

And ND was biggest by order of magnitude, IMHO.

We never were ND's biggest rival.  UCLA was always more important, and probably DePaul.

Pitt and Miami are good.  Navy is a service academy and they will play them every year forever.

Wake and BC are bad.  Two on a schedule of 12 is tolerable.  Forced to play 4 or 5 is not.
