We have a chance, just have to play extremely smart.

You can look at it as 24 hours, or you can look at it as the FIRST 24 hours of a lead we shan't relinquish.

Win tomorrow and we are in very good shape. We can win this league. I still fully believe that.

Whoa....I thought you were the one that said SU was the team to beat. Ive been beating the drum for awhile that Cuse cant win without Southerland.

As a note...CBS reported that he isnt suspended by the NCAA but by the school. He apparently will miss one more game (ND) before his appeal will be heard.

Without him, they are toast. The scouting reports are out on Carter-Williams and his effectiveness has been reduced greatly...and the loss of SOutherland has compounded the problems for him.

I don't think the SU loss is that huge. Who ever wins our game has the tie breaker so it will come down to that.

tower912

SU is down to 7 scholarship players.   Tough to win road games against tough teams only playing 7.

There are no tie breakers.

I stand corrected. Then do we have co-champions?

Yes. I think tie-breakers only come into effect for BET seeding.

Also going to see how the team responds to a demanding schedule, a lot of games in not as many days.  Pitt and St. John's have now played three more than us in just over a month's time.

Co-regular season champions.  Technically the title of "Big East Champion" goes to the tournament winner.

Winning the regular season in the Big East is a very big deal.  Go Marquette!!!

I do think Syracuse is the team to beat. But being ahead of them in the loss column would be big, especially with our game against them at home. I really think the key is getting to 15-3, which is a tall order. I think UL will lose again, even if they beat us they'll have 4+ losses. But I can see Syracuse going 15-3, and if they beat us could snag the top seed.

Syracuse has lost a lot and is more vulnerable than they were. Today was big because I could see them losing 5+ now. But beating UL is big because of the loss column. I'm looking at the league more in terms of who could catch us rather than who we have to catch.

Aside from being a full game up in the standings, a win tomorrow would also surge us in the polls.  A lot of losses this week would almost certainly put us in the top 20 and getting a lot of attention.  Would be pretty cool if we could pull it off.

#10 lost once and might lose again, #12 would have lost at home to us, #15 lost twice, #16 lost once and will probably lose twice, #17 lost, #18 has a tough road game tonight, #19 lost twice, and #22 lost.
