His oggenseive game kind of syptinks, but if you think about it, this team is winning largely because of defense and rebounding, and Lockett is obviously a big part of that.

Well, there you go.

You had no idea what kind of player Lockett was for the Devils and therefore had exaggerated expectations coming into the season leading to you being puzzled as to why he's playing the minutes he is playing.

As for MU media stuff, google YouTube, type Marquette Athletics into the search bar, subscribe to the Marquette Athletics channel and you can watch Buzz' press conferences. Anytime you want. And you can still get to bed at 23.01 when the final buzzer sounds.

I was wrong to think that as a highly touted player who had shot 42% that he would perform like a highly touted player who shot 42%?  Then I guess all who had those same expectations would be wrong which means pretty much everyone.

Do you know what the difference between 41% and 28% is based on 51 attempts?  Six makes over the course of a season.

You are only looking at the percentages without looking at the attempts.  He simply did not have the "outside shooting dimension" that you believed he did.  It is a change-up for him...enough of a threat to keep defenses honest.  It not his primary weapon by any means.

Put this another way...

Of DJO's FGA last year, 42% were from 3.
Jae's was 40%
Todd's was 43%

Trent's was 23%

Pay attention to Sultan on this misconception. He is using more tact then I would.

And, be sure to visit YouTube.

With DJO and Jae graduating and the strong possibility that Mayo might not be returning, the emphasis on Buzz's recruiting turned to 2 guards.  Off guards. shooting guards.  I'm just waiting for the shooting part to have a great shooting day, I guess.

A lot of people just don't grasp the full context of statistical data. They instead see a certain number and don't analyze the context behind it.

With only 51 three point attempts, it's kinda like a baseball player with a small number of at bats. A really good 2-3 game stretch can turn say a below average slugging percentage into an above average SLG%.

It generally takes a fairly large statistical sample to get an accurate gauge and remove randomness/luck.
