Are you kidding me?  Maybe some folks are fearful of flying to NYC bit there is no more prestigious venue in basketball then The Gaaden.  As far as attendance, sure some fans buy the entire set and only attend there session just like NCAA first and second rounders.  I have been to over 60 games in the last six years at the BE Tourney and every session has been terrific.  Locals make up a great base and always get behind the underdogs.

Neutral NY fans only spend money on winners. At the very least, they will spend money on teams that they can identify with in some regard (regional schools). Im not sure a SLU vs. DePaul and MU vs. X is going to draw that well. Not a single school within driving distance of the garden (last year's Coaches vs. Cancer tourney was a failure).

Out of curiosity, have you been to the BET? I haven't been, but it's hard to really argue with someone who has been attending 10 games per year for the better part of Marquette's time in the Big East. That's not exactly a small sample size.

Every year but one.

When I suggested a rotation, I dont know why people were thinking Indy...or Cleveland....or St Louis. A great rotation to me would be MSG and United Center. That's it. That is ideal and I guess extremely unlikely to happen.

And yes, I do have a great situation when it comes to attending the BET. However, most fans dont have that. I would prefer several thousand MU fans at the United Center over several hundred at MSG.

Nova fans dont even show up if their team isnt good. DePaul fans are non-existent. SHU fans dont represent very well. Same goes for PU fans. I wouldnt expect X, Creighton, Dayton, SLU fans to represent at the BET anymore than MU fans have...and probably even less so. SJU attendance is ok but not what you would expect.

The great thing is that MSG will likely agree to hosting the tourney because there isnt another conference that is interested in permanently utilizing MSG year in and year out. All other conferences would only be interested in MSG if it was part of a rotation. Since MSG is a publicly traded company, they will do what is in the best interest of shareholders....which is making money.

I completely get your idea and I love it. I just loved your Cleveland joke and highlighted it. No disrespect meant. Loved the humor.
