I was just reading that on Jan. 6 Yale is hosting the U of Florida in New Haven.  Seems like an odd road game for a team the caliber of Florida.

Home and away series.  Last year game at Florida.  Not sure how Yale pulled that off.

Donovan's taking a page out of Izzo's book.

With a team that good, it make sense to try and challenge them.

From an ESPN blog:

"Yale coach James Jones credited a Yale administrator who once worked at Florida as well as Gators head coach Billy Donovan for securing a rare Florida visit to New England. The Gators will play at Yale on Jan. 6 in the middle game of a two-for-one series. Yale played at Florida last season, losing 90-70. Donovan, who played at Providence and is from New York, isn't adverse to playing home games for players in odd places. He once played at UNH for New Hampshire native Matt Bonner. This game is a "home" game for Rhode Island native Erik Murphy. The Bulldogs have had three other power six schools play on campus under Jones: Stanford, Wake Forest and Penn State."

Interesting piece, leaves me wondering what a power 6 school is if wake is included.

Playing Yale on any court is hardly a challenge. Now, if they were competing in a classroom....

I'd love to see us do this. Set up three series at a time with teams that project to the 150-200 RPI range. Have a different team of the three as a road game each year. Gives you an extra road game to help the RPI and lowers the cost of your buy games.

We R Final Four

What's UWGB's projected RPI?  I gues it only helps your RPI if you win those road games.

Yeah, a ~150-200 RPI win on the road is much better than a 300+ RPI buy game at home.  But only if you win the road game.

A loss to a 300+ RPI at home is much more damaging than a loss to a 150 RPI team on the road.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

We R Final Four

When was our 300+ RPI last home loss?  I think our last road ~150 RPI loss was ~2 weeks ago.  So, I guess it is damaging when it happens.

Yes and no. It helps more to get road wins and hurts less if you take road losses. Right now projected RPI isn't of much use as it's too early to be effective (regardless of what UDPride may say) but they should finish in the 150-200 range.
