the latest on Looney's recruitment. Unless you consider getting named twice in his schools list a positive, it looks like he wants to get out of Milwaukee for school.

I'm assuming Looney goes elsewhere - it would be foolish to assume otherwise - but I don't see anything that stresses he's hellbent on getting away from Milwaukee.
His only criteria are .. "I'm looking for a good fit, a good style of play, good coaches I can trust, and a great fan base."
He can have all those things in Milwaukee.

I don't understand how MSU could be working harder than Buzz and co. Not only is Buzz one of the hardest working coaches when it comes to recruiting, but he is in his backyard. Someone on the staff should be in the gym whenever he laces them up, of coarse as the schedule allows.
Bring back FFP!!!

I am just discouraged there wasn't a quote about MU in there, given the fact that Buzz was sitting in the front row of the game he just finished playing in.

unless Buzz already knows something that we don't.

Apparently we offered him twice, which means we must be pursuing him the hardest!

Seriously this doesn't dampen anything for me.  I've never seen anything to indicate we have a good shot at him.  If anything I like that he says there is no favorite at this point but we are on the list.

Think he's cooling on him?
No, I think he wants him, everybody does, but at some point if you know that the interest isn't there then I think that a wise person moves on. Nevertheless, he is local so the cost is ONLY time, but still a resource that has to be used on likely results. OBTW, I have *no* insider info, I am just speculating.

These articles are dictated by the writer. He probably asked about recent offers and when he got them and responded with more specifics. MU was an old offer so nothing news relevant. I don't think we get Looney, but I don't think this article says much besides him getting a ton of attention. Who knows he could've talked a little about all the schools including MU, but the writer didn't include it. It's not like MU will get you tons of hits on your site.

Keep in mind Duane Wilson at one point fairly late in his recruitment also said he wanted to go out of the state.  Too early to get too worried.

Not much interaction between Looney and Buzz after his NY2LA game at Homestead. Looney came to the sideline Buzz was on (and where what looked to be the high level parents were as well), did a quick bro handshake with Buzz, maybe a sentence or two at most was said and then Looney went to the other side of the gym to watch the Vincent-Dominican game.

I don't think he'll be attending MU, but NC State???? I guess it would be a huge thrill to play for the third best team in North Carolina.

If you were Looney, where would you go?  I've always felt going away to school is a great thing, that's one of the reasons I did it.  Escape from normalcy, take an adventure, try something new.  If basketball can enable that, more power to him.  Of course some folks love to be within a certain diameter of home and that's fine as well.  To each their own, but I don't blame Looney one bit. It's a big world, go explore it.  I'd say the same thing to recruits in other states, come to Milwaukee and check out something new.

Looney's decision won't dampen my enthusiasm whatsoever. I hoped we'd be right there early on, maybe we still will be, but I'm expecting him to head to Duke or one of the other blue bloods out of state. I think we have a better shot at Stone than Looney. No idea if we'll get him either, but not putting all my eggs in the Looney basket, though I do think he'd be a stud here.
