Illinois won at Gonzaga and looked really legit. They were the best team at Maui. I think they have a good chance to win the B1g.
Goal is National Championship

Can't believe we're living in the land of F 452/1984/Animal Farm/Brave New World/Handmaid's Tale. When travel to Mars begins, expect Starship Troopers

You maybe had something to start that post. By the end you were into pure crazy talk.

ChitownSpaceForRent

They arent up to what the 05 team was but I see a lot of similarities. They have 4 3 point shooters on the court at all time and one big guy to get them rebounds.

I completely missed this game but you are literally nut if you think Illinois may win the big 10. Don't get me wrong they are surprising but they are not a big10 title team.............not even close.

Did you see the game?

I didn't, but beating Gonzaga and winning Maui over USC, Chaminade, and an exhausted Butler squad coupled with beating a solid mid-major is not the same as keeping up with Ohio State, Michigan, and Indiana.

In other news, Purdue loses to Eastern Michigan, 48-40.    Ouch.

So you think winning Maui over Butler and beating Gonzaga means they are better than 1-IU,  3-Mich and 7-tOSU?

brewcity77

I still think if Rotnei Clarke doesn't puke up a miracle, we win Maui. That shot changed a lot of perspectives on this season. If it rims out and we win Maui, we're ranked right now and despite the Florida loss would be perceived far better.

Sheriff

They are shooting a lot of threes which may make them vulnerable on cold shooting nights, but they are playing with more intensity under Groce than with Weber.

Was Butler more exhausted than Illinois for some reason?
Not suggesting Illini are best in Big ?at this point, but also don't see the need to minimize what they've done so far.

Yes. Without a doubt. Illinois played an average USC team and lucked into playing a D2 Chaminade team while Butler played two very athletic and fast-paced teams. It's crazy to think you need to expend as much effort playing USC and Chaminade as you do playing Marquette and UNC.

I think you're reaching.
Butler's starters averaged 29 minutes against UNC. Illinois' starters averaged 26 minutes against Chaminade.
Butler played UNC at 7 p.m. Illinois tipped off at 9:30 p.m.

PGsHeroes32

No it's not reaching. Not only were butlers games more fast paces but against us it was literalt a boxing match that went the full 40. Illinois won their two games in blow outs and the games were not near the intensity.
