Nothing ‘bizarre,’ nothing ‘controversial’

The end of the Green Bay Packers-Seattle Seahawks game Monday night was not "bizarre." It was not "crazy" or "wild." And it was certainly not "controversial."

While the wide-eyed, developmentally stalled announcers at ESPN and other networks are using these words to describe the game's final play and, thus, outcome, the truths are these: The final call was plainly WRONG and the Packers, even with their poor play, got HOSED.

There is nothing to debate and nothing to scrutinize; therefore, the game and its outcome are not bizarre, crazy, wild or certainly not controversial.

It was pathetic, however, watching and listening to Pete Carroll, Russell Wilson and Golden Tate support, applaud and celebrate a laughably stupid call -- one of several -- that gave new meaning to "botched."

"They called it a simultaneous catch," a giddy Carroll said after the game. "Tie goes to the runner. It gave us an extraordinary win."

The game was mired in bad calls. And with the Packers continuing to play so-so or worse football, the game came down to the final play and a ridiculously bad call.

I know Mike McCarthy is not prone to displays of emotion, but he should have unloaded on the officials for some of those awful calls, especially the one that GAVE Seattle a win it did not earn.

Out of respect for the sport and in the interest of historical accuracy, the NFL should reverse the outcome of that football game.

McCarthy unloading doesn't do anything but feed the meatball fans.  He has to worry about leading his team into next week and for the rest of the year.  Playing the victim feels good in the short-term, but doesn't do anything in the long-term.

What about the horrible PI call that set up the Packers only TD? Instead of 4th and 2 out of FG range, they got a 1st down inside the 40. Does that one bother you at all?

That was a make up call for the blatant missed PI call two plays earlier.

No doubt. Tate has one arm locked into the good doctors arm and the other hugging his neck. Ref didn't make the call til he saw him on the ground, not sure what the eff he was looking at.

Should the league scour its record books and reverse the outcome of every game decided by a bad call? Maybe reverse the "Immaculate (Illegal) Reception?" Overturn the Pats' 2002 Super Bowl win because of the Tuck Rule call?

Packers, no doubt, got hosed. Not the first time it's happened in NFL history, and it won't be the last.

All I was saying is that if you're going to be outraged over a terrible call that led to a game-deciding TD, it should at least be acknowledged that the Packers also benefited from a terrible call which led to a TD.

I can say that was a bad call, but like I mentioned before, two plays earlier they missed a blatant PI that would have given a first down.

obviously wrong call, 2 missed OPI's before interception.  Homer roughing the passer call to keep the drive alive.  Never should have happened, but don't believe commish should have reversed.  If you're going with these amateurs, you must support them.
