Considering that they're paying their top 5, the Lakers likely need all the minimum salary bodies it can get on the end of the bench.

I don't think he's played one minute in preseason, has he?

Yeah, he has. Just not in their last three games.

I believe that the Lakers need to make one more cut.  There is some speculation that it could be Darius Morris.  Interesting to note that he makes 2x what DJO does.  Assuming he doesn't have a guaranteed contract (anybody know?), that might become a factor for the last man on the bench.

Also recall that Kobe is hurting with only 2 pre-season games left.  Wonder if that could be a factor as DJO is a #2 on their depth chart while Morris is a #1.

Another option would be to cut Goudelock, now the 3rd string SG with Meeks now the backup to Kobe.  Again, it would depend on if the Lakers can jettison his $762K salary and keep DJO at $473K.  They have to be thinking coin with that 15th spot along with longer term potential.

A little advice to our fellow alum.  Don't ask for a raise this week, okay?

My money is on DJO making the team and getting designated to Bakersfield.

After watching the Lakers fall to 0-6 in the preseason against mediocre teams, the team is gonna need to shuffle its bench around. Hopefully they keep DJO in the mix and he sees some time.

I wouldn't do anything based on preseason. The bucks won something like their first 8 quarters. Preseason is meaningless.
