Clearly, what we've witnessed is the modern version of drunk dialing.  Unfortunately, on Facebook it's there for all (including the judge who issued the restraining order) to see.

Why is Mbakwe even using Facebook to send her this message?  His powers do include mental telepathy.

Yes, there is when you have been given a no contact order.

No kidding. Was that even a serious question? Nobody knows what his motivation was, or the circumstances,  but the fact that she felt it appropriate to call the cops, says something to me.

Any word on what Minn is doing for reprimanding him? Is he supposed to play tonight against Purdue?

Last I heard, he would be playing but wouldn't be starting.

Ouch -- you misinterpreted my post.  It was less about violating the no contact and more about the content of his message, and how I felt it was a disservice to call it "gay".  Illegal, yes, in this circumstance.  Durrrr, I'm not condoning Mbakwe's lapse in judgment.

Sorry if this got posted somewhere else ...

I just read that Mbakwe got a sixth year granted by the NCAA.

To be honest, I'm surprised he got it (but I'm not totally familiar with what happened to him after leaving MU).

But to circle it around to the current team, this makes me feel all the more confident in CO's case, should he/MU decide to pursue a sixth year.

If he can, Chris can.  IF he wants it.

If Otule still wants a sixth year and if Marquette still wants him, he will get it. Many, many, many precedents, with Mbakwe just the latest.

Looks like Minnesota is maxed out on scholly's next year and IF Trevor comes back they will have to "adjust" the roster.

Content of the message is fine.  The fact that there was a message, not so fine.  This harrasment stuff is serious, and no contact means no contact.  It really is that simple.

Seems like he's been in school forever. I guess he got his bachelor's so he'll be working on a master's

Since the Gophers do not have an available scholarship, they have requested a waiver to allow Trevor to play.  If not granted by the NCAA, someone is going to have to give up a scholie.  This will be important for Otule, because if Minnesota is given a waiver, then that opens the door for Otule to return for a 6th year without taking up a scholarship.

This is from April 8th.

Chip Armelin, the Gophers sophomore guard from Sulphur, La., has indicated to basketball coach Tubby Smith that he would like to transfer closer to home. Armelin saw little action toward the end of the season and likely will get his release, leaving a scholarship open for Trevor Mbakwe if he decides to play a sixth year.

April 17th
Mbakwe and coach Tubby Smith hinted that this was a likely outcome in recent weeks, and Chip Armelin's decision last week to transfer opened up a scholarship, but the finality is notable.
