I guess the question is dollars to donuts do you believe you can pick 10 of the Sweet 16 teams for next year today?  I think the odds are against it, but I guess it would take almost 11 1/2 months to find out if you want to post your Sweet 16 today.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

I think MU does well with an underdog mentality. We will be fine next year 12-6 in conference make it back to the Sweet 16, maybe win one after that, followed by a National Championship in 2014. In 2014 the starting line up will as follows pg/Duane Wilson g/Vander Blue g/ T.J Taylor F/ Jamil Wilson  C/Otule.....D. Gardner and Steve Taylor will will see big minutes off the bench as will Kendrick Nunn...... Some more kool-aid please....     ;D

You expecting Mayo to declare after this year?

(And I'm not discounting it, honestly asking)

I'm not sure Mayo would declare since he wouldn't actually get drafted. I do think he would just leave to go start his pro career somewhere. He'll be 22 next year and something tells me he doesn't want to hang around Milwaukee till he's 24 (wild speculation..shame on me).  He doesn't say much, so it's hard to gauge his long-term excitement for MU, however he would have to make one of the biggest year to year jumps of all time to get drafted as a 6'1" off guard (I know MU lists him as 6'3", but he's not unless he puts on some really thick shoes). Those sort of guys average 20+, can score on anyone and are all-americans (Jimmer, Nolan Smith to name a couple). I think eventually he's one of the guys that doesn't stay 4 years.

WHAT?!  How many players have gone overseas rather than stay in college?  Brandon Jennings skipped college to play overseas, and that hurt his draft stock.  Even so, he was a lottery pick out of high school and had nothing to prove by going to college.  The European game is completely different than the American game.  If he wants to make it to the NBA (which I can't imagine he doesn't), leaving Marquette to play overseas and trying to get drafted through that route is the most ridiculously mistaken decision ever.  I think those who predict he leaves early simply because he's an older player are sorely mistaken.  If he isn't going to get drafted, it is incredibly dumb to leave early.  An unproven 22 year old is much less likely to get drafted over a proven 24 year old.  Leaving after next year if he won't get drafted and going overseas basically guarantees he will not be in the NBA ever.  How many American players that go overseas end up scoring a career in the NBA?  Very, very few.

And he is taller than Junior and DJO.  So are those 2 under 6' tall?  I don't think so.

and Brennan writes about the "snubs": http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/57867/vcu-cincy-among-new-top-25-snubs

MU is "Five More to Watch": The Golden Eagles just lost their two best players, seniors Darius Johnson-Odom and Jae Crowder, to the inescapable maw of time. But every main contributor around that star duo will be back, including Vander Blue, Davante Garnder, Chris Otule (coming off a December ACL injury), Todd Mayo and Junior Cadougan. This will remain a talented up-tempo team led by one of the nation's most tireless coaches in Buzz Williams.

No mention of Jamil?!? He's going to have a big season next year.

That's fine...we'll be under the radar until Thanksgiving. People will stop ignoring us after we beat UNC for the Maui Invitational title.
