So has anyone else seen the Steve Nash Dove commercial where he talks about Selection Sunday? He says "I was nervous, are we gonna get in, are we not gonna get in, and when I saw Santa Clara come up, I went crazy and ran around the block."

So anyway...unless my memory is waaaaaaaay off, that was the year Santa Clara pulled off the 15/2 upset of Arizona. And news flash, they were an automatic qualifier. There is no "are we not gonna get in" when you win the auto-bid.

Anyway...yeah, that was bugging me.

I thought that same thing. There's no way a 15-seed got in without an automatic bid. I guess it's the magic of television and "will we? won't we?" plays better than "who and where will we play?"

WI inferiority Complexes

Steve Nash's senior year was 1996, when the #10 seed Broncos upset the #7 seed Maryland in the first round.  They did not qualify by winning the WCC that year (like they did in '93, when Nash and Santa Clara upset #2 Arizona).

Yup.  He says it was his senior year.  He was a freshman when they were a 15 seed and upset the 2 seed Wildcats.

jaybilaswho?

But what I dont get is why is Steve Nash comfortable in his own skin? I never thougth of questioning his comfort levels. I get the GTIII commercial... that man sweet alot. I even get the Shaq one... with his stutter. Steve Nash... not soo much.

Didn't MU play them in the Arena that year?  (and we won)
