Based on likely NCAA bids, MU will move up the chain a bit:

Kansas.       22 years
Duke.          16 years
Michigan.     14 years
Gonzaga.     13 years
Texas.         13 years and not a sure thing
Wisconsin.   13 years
Pitt.             10 years and OUT
Villinova.       7 years and OUT
MU.              6 years
Tennessee.    6 years and OUT
Texas A&M.   6 years and OUT
Xavier.          6 years and not a sure thing

Ahead of KY, Louisville, Ohio St, NC

After this year, maybe 6th or 7th longest streak.  Shows you how difficult sustained excellence is.  Nicely done, Buzz.

With conference tournaments, no one is out until they're actually out.

You might have meant Michigan State because Michigan hasn't gone that many years in a row.

MU's current 6 streak is split with 3 from Crean and 3 from Buzz.  We've been blessed with very good coaches.

Of course I meant State, thanks for the catch.

And I am familiar with conf tourneys - just likely results IMO (though I get your reading of ("OUT").

Lastly, I forgot (temporarily) about  the sensitivity of some on this board to Buzz/Crean.  No disrespect to TC for what he accomplished for MU.  Though it ain't 3-3 anymore!

Dead on right...but without auto-bids...

Texas still has a shot, but only because the bubble is so soft. Today's loss could be a killer...they don't have much quality in their wins, and they don't need bad losses.

Pittsburgh may not get an at-large, but if there's any team that can go from out to in based on a tourney run, it's them. If anyone could do 5 games in 5 days, that's the team.

Villanova technically could get the auto-bid, but there's no way. Their run is done.

Tennessee is also done. Can't see them running the SEC tourney, too much quality there.

Texas A&M Yeah...just not that good, are they? How were they ranked preseason?

Xavier should be in. The soft bubble will save them.

bilsu

I tis only a soft bubble now. It changes when unexpecte3d teams win their conference tournament taking away a bid from someone. If any team wins 5 games in Big East tournament this year, it will be St. John's not Pitt.

5 games in 5 days with 6 players?  Their odds might be longer than DePaul's.

Buzz has gone deeper.  Today, he went with the rotation he was comfortable with.  JJ came in, gave up a rebound, baseline and then foul and was back on the bench.  The length of UCONN is likely why Buzz went to a smaller rotation.

Wilson got strategic minutes, but today Buzz was comfortable with 6.  During the BE Tourney, I would suspect (if Gardner is healthy), it could be an 8 or 9 man rotation in the 1st half and 7 in the 2nd.

I'm talking about the Johnnies.  They literally have six players left.  We can go 7 or 8 in the BET no problem, even play as many as ten.  They don't even have the option.

Yeah, that was likely pretty much obvious to everyone but me.   :o  My bad.

I think Xavier is in at the expense of Dayton, who Xavier beat in OT yesterday.

Of those ahead or tied with us, Pitt, Nova, Texas A&M, Tennessee gone.

Xavier and Texas hung in there.

7 years and the 7th longest current streak!

I guess that is why Cream said "its Indiana"... maybe Buzz can catch him...
