Wade for President

...an MU player spin off a defender and throw it down?  I'm of course referring to Jamil's spin off Kuric down the lane to a one-handed flush over a defender.  Incredible athleticism, strength, and body control, that frankly we haven't seen at MU in a long time.

That was a big time play that got me thinking who the last MU player was that could've pulled off something like that?  I don't think Butler had the body control and lift to power that down.  Lazar couldn't really drop step into a dunk.  Wes didn't have the length.

Maybe Merritt (I'm serious).  Or DWade?  Faisal Abraham had the power, but couldn't maintain the dribble.

Really excited to see what Jamil can do these next two years.  Especially if he could move to a switchable 3-4, instead of a switchable 4-5.

Sorry...simply looking to add a little levity to a tough morning.

Honestly, Dominic James had the athleticism to do that.

O'Hagan: "Take it easy, Rod."
Farva: "Open bar, dude!"

I know DJ was a freak, but not a chance he could've pulled that move off (well...he didn't do it).

That was a great play.  He has really come along this year.  I think he's best suited in the college game to the 4-5 rather than the 3-4, though.  No handle for a three, competent shooting range extends only to 15 feet (though he is starting to think he can shoot the 3, which he should never do unless it's wide open late in the shot clock).  He has great bounce and the maybe the best hands I can remember for MU ever.  If he gets one hand on the ball he always pulls it in.

The only good thing about the Otule/Gardner injuries is that it allowed Wilson to get more PT/confidence.  I'll be interested how the three of them co-exist next year.  I don't think Buzz will want Otule and Gardner on the floor at the same time much, so injuries aside Wilson at the 5 will be a thing of the past after this year.
Calvin:  I'm a genius.  But I'm a misunderstood genius.
Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

No chance DJ could have done that with Kuric bodied up on him... With no one on him, yes... With Acker or Cubes on him, maybe.

That move will help me get over the loss of DJO & JC after the season is over. Wilson is going to have to make huge strides over the year to become a 15-17 ppg player, obviously the potential is there, but for some it's always about the potential. He has made a big step in just becoming a contributor this year, but from rotational guy to star is another jump that just doesn't happen that easily.

MU_LOL

I was blown away with this play. I've been a fan of his all season, but this made me jump out of my seat.
I'm Ron Burgundy?

Earlier in the season in a different thread on Jamil that he needs to get "nasty" around the rim.  This is what I'm talking about.  Great to see.

Todd Townsend had a smiliar move back in the day...I think it was against Louisville as well.
