DJO 34th overall to Raptors.
Crowder 43rd overall to Minnesota.

Quote
Possibly the most improved player in college basketball, and currently the front-runner to win Big East player of the year honors, Jae Crowder is in the midst of a spectacular senior season, which could very well end up earning him a well-deserved spot in the 2012 draft.

I GUARANTEE that Jae Crowder does not fall out of the first round. 27th pick is Spurs, 28th is Bulls, 29th is Heat and 30th is OKC, all teams that emphasize teamwork. There is not a better individual talent in college basketball who thrives in a team system than Jae Crowder.

Not to mention the Heat (DWade), Bulls (Jimmy Butler) and OKC (Hayward) all have Marquette players. And DraftExpress has been wrong two years running on where MU players go in the draft!

NBAdraft.net hasn't been updated but it should include Jae.

I'm not overly concerned about his height and measurables for if he is able to reveal something during the draft camps, it'll boost his place.

Much like Lazar and his "gate times" or Jimmy and his "measurables."

I wouldn't guarantee that.  There is a pretty big hole in Jae's game.  He is a very weak ball handler (dribbler) for an NBA wing and that is going to be a major problem for a guy his size.  He is not going to beat guys off the dribble.  And while he is very strong, he is not the monster rebounder someone with his ball skills needs to be at the NBA level, nor is he a lock-down defender, nor is he is a tremendous shooter nor is he a tremendous athlete.

His biggest talents are that he is very smart on the court, has a great motor and is a tireless worker and he is good at everything except ballhandling.  That sort of thing isn't going to be apparent in pre-draft workouts, etc.  I think he is having an all-time season at MU, but don't know how well his game will translate.

Yeah, I think Jae would be lucky to get drafted, given he is undersized and has no handles for a 3.

If Jae gets drafted I'll be 3 for 3 in the MU draft selections in the past 3 years. Those late first round teams wants players to play a role, not be stars that take someone off the dribble. By the way, I think some of you are being unfair about his ball handling.

The abiility to either take someone of the dribble or be a deadly long-range shooter is the minimum requirement for an NBA 3, I think.  When you watch Jae, if he has to dribble the ball more than 2 or 3 times it gets a little dicey.

Anyway, I hope you're right because I really like Jae.  And FWIW, I never thought Lazar Hayward wouild be a first rounder (I actually still don't get that one) so I don't count my scouting skills for much.  Butler didn't surprise me because of his size and athleticism and he was a great one on one defender, particularly for his size.

I GUARANTEE that Jae Crowder does not fall out of the first round.

Assuming this is a double-your-money-back guarantee. Otherwise, a cynic might say your guarantee really is pretty meaningless.

If by emphasize teamwork, you mean 2 guys score while everyone else watches, then yes you're right.

don't under estimate a few things here.  the program he comes from, his heart, his basic skills, fundamentals and he's hungry.  you give jae a little time to concentrate on his weaknesses, they become after thoughts.  you tell jae he can't do it...?  first round and a decent role player on the right team

I thought Jae demonstrated better handles during the Gtown game compared to what I've seen out of him the rest of his time at MU.  If he can keep taking it at his defender during the post season it'll go a long way to prove to scouts that he has respectable handles.

At this point I'd be absolutely floored if either one goes undrafted.  Not sure where I saw this but whoever said it was absolutely correct - if Eddie House can have a long NBA career, then so can DJO.  And Crowder winning BEast POY then gaining SN 2nd team AA honors to go along with the Jeremy Lin soothsayer tabbing him in the WSJ article virtually assures he will be drafted as well (yeah I know, there are exceptions to BE POY and AA's being drafted).  How far we go in this year's tournament will determine how high these guys go in the draft.  Final four and beyond with some monster games = first round lock for both.
