Has any MU player ever had a four-game stretch like this? Amazing.

I thought Crean set us straight. Jerseys are retired, not numbers. I'll check with Brute Force, just to be sure.

If he wins BEPOY, put it in the rafters as soon as he graduates.

my bad, 4ever. Was it Lazar who got GT's 24?

Yep, that was part of the stink between a Marquette legend and the phony.

Jae might just be the only player to have his number or jersey hang from the rafters after 2 years on campus.  Unbelievable.  I am shamed for my questioning him earlier this season.  Not his talent, his consistency.  The only thing I am disappointed with Jae is he was only here 2 years!

jae is bustin out just at the right time - take us all the way big guy

Hopefully, we still have 13 games left  ;)

If he averages 20/10 from here on out and we get to the final 4, it work be to leave him off after scoring 1100 in 2 seasons on one of our best teams.

The title of the thread says it all...

        Well put, ecompt!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Okay, MU against Syracuse, but instead of MU's regular players, Buzz starts five mini-Jaes who are only three feet tall.  Who wins?

Is Jae driving the bus to the game?

MU, then.   ;)
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

You could count them on one hand. Last year Jae was a little up and down and I thought he lost his legs for a while about mid way through the season. This year - gangbusters!

In all seriousness, why aren't the jersey's of Chones, Whitehead and Tony Smith retired yet?

Wade only played 2 years (although he was on campus for 3).

Awesome question.

4 games in a row, how about 5 game stretch with one slight hiccup?

Tony Smith scored more than 40 points twice during a five game stretch in 1990.

He scored 44 against Wisconsin on the road and then book ended it with 43 against Butler four games later.

In between, MU played at St. Louis in a very low scoring game where he scored only 15. Followed that with 29 against Evansville.  Then came the Titans of Detroit where Smith dropped in 25.

Not against the same level of competition, but he also had no help either because the other players on that team were not of the equal of Jae's teammates.

Tony's Points
44
15
29
25
43

156 total points for an average of 31.2 per game in that stretch.  That's a great stretch as well.  Crowder's is equally amazing when you throw in the blocks, rebounds, etc.

Hence the "on campus" inclusion in my comment.   ;)
