Friday Night Game
« on: February 23, 2012, 03:15:08 PM »
Anyone know if there's extenuating circumstances that led to a Friday night game?  I can't remember the last time a major conference scheduled a league game on a Friday night....

We played Pitt @ home a few years ago on a Friday night.  I believe its because there are no NBA games due to All Star Weekend.

Gotcha.  It's rare...I knew that much.  Maybe not as rare as I thought, though.

The MU-ND game that Novak won on the sat second trey was on Friday night.  But, it is odd especially given the 48 hour turnaround.

It's all about the television.   ESPN needs programming.   The BEast offers up MU/WVU.    Good exposure for MU (assuming we don't lay our national audience egg) because sportsbars all over the country are going to be tuned into the game because nothing else is on.   BW3's all over are going to get to see Buzz and Huggy.   I hope Buzz chooses a sweatsuit to match up sartoriallly with Huggy.

ESPN loves to throw a Friday nighter out there during NBA All Star weekend.  IIRC we played Pitt at the BC a couple years ago on a Friday as well.
