Doesn't say much, just talks about how MU plays harder than its opponents and that MU should challenge SU, Gtown, and ND for the Big East Tournament...

SaintPaulWarrior

Agreed.  Three paragraphs and to add to what was said above....it says Buzz and his staff are one of the best at game planning one game at a time and cites shutting down Holloway last year.

THEultimateWARRIOR

During the course of Marquette's last three wins, the Golden Eagles have played very convincingly. Granted, two of those games were against the bottom tier of this season's conference (Connecticut and DePaul) but Buzz Williams' squad has one of the best offenses in the Big East -- 1.08 points per possession.

Even though their defense in-conference has not been spectacular (.99 PPP), many think Marquette could be the sleeper team to make the Final Four. According to Dan Wolken, the Golden Eagles can make the final weekend because they continually play harder than their opponents.

Marquette has the chance to enter the conference tournament on a multi-game win streak, and could use the momentum to seriously challenge Syracuse, Notre Dame or Georgetown in the Big East final. It will be interesting to see how Marquette does in the NCAA tournament; Williams and his staff are among the best at game-planning one contest at a time (i.e. shutting down Tu Holloway in the 2011 tournament). With the right match-ups, MU has the chance to do very well.

Hope he's right, of course, but the caveat "With the right match-ups, MU has the chance to do very well," probably covers a couple dozen teams at least.

A deep run would not surprise me at all, with or without DG. This team is tough and plays so hard that they will be in every game. I think the toughness of battling back when behind early was great character test for the boys.
