but on the real why did he get the STOG for the Cincy game? DJO won that hanidly.

Whats the point in voting then?

ironically I agreed with you and voted DJO in the Cincy game, after having voted for Crowder in the two previous games when he did not get it.  Clearly my vote is a curse!  However, with the two previous votes being so close, maybe some just felt guilty since Crowder clearly deserved at least one - if not two - of the three.

I really appreciate your subject field being so positive to make it clear you weren't going after him with your constructive question.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

I saw one of the Mods say something like "No matter what you guys vote im making Jae STOG" I thought that was a joke but clearly they were serious.

I Love both these Seniors but DJO was clearly the STOG against Cincy and it was voted that way.

Tonight was the first game all year where Jae clearly took over for stretches of a game in doubt. DJO has singlehandely done 8 pt runs regularly in close games.

The mods start a poll when they are unsure.  They wanted Jae v. Cincy but someone else started the poll.  I voted Jae BTW.

(mental note .. the SOTG is mostly just spiral/rocky's arena .. and if you notice, it's not them who starts the threads/polls that discusses who the SOTG should go to.)

Review the box score and you'll notice it's not so "clear" for cincy.  I know you've said something to the extent of "well, if you saw them play", but even then, Jae was doing everything during the Cincy game. You subjectively think DJO, I subjectively think Jae for Cincy SOTG.

It's not a slight against DJO - both have been playing VERY well, but Jae's stats edged DJO for Cincy.

Anyhow, you may continue complaining if you like, but this is my last post on the Cincy SOTG....

Still dont understand the point in voting then

It's a poll... no one ever said the results of said poll would be used to determine the SOTG.

tower912

Because it is their site.   And the poll is usually started by someone other than the mods, WHO MAKE THE FINAL DECISION.    The poll matters when the mods can't make up their minds.   Other than that, they are entertainment for us.

So, I guess there should be a disclaimer reading STOG(in the minds of 3 fans).

I'm really sick of the MUScoop moderators running this place into the ground.  They lack basic empathy and they should know that all internet forums are DEMOCRATIC!  I have started my own forums in response to the muscoop moderator's shortcomings.  You can all join me at our new website.

chapman

Let the oligarchy continue. I think it's more fun this way. And I voted for DJO for Cincy too.

I think well just have to wait till next year to say I told you so because there are so many ppl on here who take DJO for granted. Pathetic.

In other news, DJO is now tied with Jones after his UCONN performance in the BE scoring race (PPG)...but is a couple ahead of Jones in PPM.

MU B2002

Who is taking djo for granted?  Jeez, its not like Crowder put up 10 & 3.  He had as many points(on 4 less shots), 4 more rebs, shot 100% from line and 61% from fg.  Djo had one more assist, but shot 50% from line and 58% from field.  Either guy could have easily been named sotg.

Look after every game and see how people critique the performances and they just blow off DJ's because hes doing what is expected of him, being the best player on the team.

Polls determine STOG. The mods determine SOTG.

Personally, I don't care for either. I prefer StOTG.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
