Not sure. Did Bond (or any other MU sports coach not in the basketball program) spit on Connaughton today?

Might've been funny if we didn't lose a game of our own today. By 17 no less.

GGGG

Yeah, I have no idea why MU fans have to keep posting about UW and IU results.  Obsession is never pretty.

A lot of people here (myself included) can't stand UW in general or Crean in particular. When people on this board equate rooting against the former with an inferiority complex or the the latter with jilted lover syndrome I have to laugh. Cheering against a rival or a coach disliked even when he was here doesn't strike me as obsessive. Sometimes (almost all the time?) a cigar is just a cigar.

Until you take time to repeatedly tell your friends and the internet how much you hate that cigar.

;)

I kid, I kid.

Digger was the most hated of all coaches when I was a student, and he still is hated.  Let us have our obsessions.

I understand that and to be honest I don't really mind if someone posts making fun of a bad IU or UW loss (at home against Iowa, for example). I guess I just don't understand what the point is in trying to make fun of UW when they lost by 5 to the #3 team in the country (although at home) when we lost by 17 to an unbanked team who lost their best player before the season even started. I'd have to say a close loss to OSU looks better than a blowout. Not that a loss to ND is a BAD loss. I just don't get how on the same day we get blown out our fans can try to make UW look like a crappy team for losing a close game to a top 5 team. Makes no sense to me.

Agree, Wade.

Really wasn't trying to say or start anything was just seeing how to create a post since I'd never started one and had just read some twitter posts about the "phantom spitter" last year and so said something dumb.....sorry y'all you see I'm a walk-on so chill....and I'm a MU grad who grew up on west coast who roots for UW except for when they play us so don't read "hate" into it.

Sometimes a post is just dumb, I'll take my slap now :(

I actually found the humor in the post.  Adding Bielema was a nice touch.

It's a matter of maturity, that's all.  There are a number of coaches and players in the pros and college that I don't care for.  I don't obsess over them on a message board, especially if that coach did wonderful things for my school. That's what I have never understood with you and others on the obsession kick.  It's not as if Crean left the school high and dry like some other MU coaches have.  He left us a Final Four to build on, Dwyane Wade to build on, a team with 3 future NBA players and a 4th that only finished his career something like 2nd or 3rd in all-time scoring.  He left us Buzz Williams.

The anger is immature, especially in that context.  If he had left the program to rot, you would have a beef.  Otherwise it either looks childish or personal.  My guess is personal.  How else can one explain it.  Yes, you don't like him.  Puerto Ricon Nightmare doesn't like him.  Ringout doesn't like him.  OK, so you don't like him.

Next time you are on our pout rage about him, think about where MU would be right now without Buzz Williams who he brought in.  Think about where MU would be right now without Dwyane Wade, Steve Novak, Wesley Matthews, the Big East.  We have become spoiled because we weren't that great a program since Hank with the exception of one Sweet 16 run under KO.  That's it.  You guys are as bad as Indiana fans sometimes.
