OT: Something I saw while watching Cavs vs Wizards

In the Third Quarter, LeBron James went down with an injury, they took an injury timeout, went to commercial, and James didn't have to go off the court, in fact he stayed in the game.  When did they change that rule, because if I was an NBA coach at the end of the game, if I was losing, after every shot I would have one of my players go down fake an injury, then get the injury timeout, and then get up and keep playing.  I can't believe that players don't have to go to the bench when they are injured.
