Are we reaching the limits that universities can charge for athletics?

I am not posting this to rip on Wisconsin, but this article came out yesterday in the Wisconsin State Journal about the attendance dips they have seen at football, basketball, and especially hockey.  Oates actually makes some good points that are applicable at other schools.

But they sold those games out, in addition to home dates with Wofford & Missouri-Kansas City before not selling out for Green Bay, where arguably Green Bay alumni would want to buy tickets, and UNLV, clearly the crown jewel of the non-regularly scheduled non-conference schedule.

What a weird argument.
